“thank god there are bands as good as this .there was more sweat and energy in this rock n roll show than a thousend simpering indie boybands.” – Artrocker
“Highly threatening, touchingly poignant, explosive, revolutionary and downright fucking dangerous.” – Gordon Raphael (Strokes/Regina Spektor producer)
“Peerlessly iconic.” – Venue Magazine
“The tom-boy rockabilly love-child of Nick Cave and KD Lang with Scotty Moore on guitar. Fantastic!” – Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6)
With a sound that ranges from heartbreaking country to ferocious rockabilly punk, Emily Breeze has been alternately soothing and ravaging the ears of West Country gig-goers for the past few years.
Emily’s influences range from the audio terrorism of the Birthday Party and the Stooges to the glossy melodrama of Scott Walker and Roy Orbison via Bob Dylan’s arctic observations. But the 20-something Bristol-based musician adds a 21st century sensibility plus a feminine sexiness to these impeccable (anti)heroes. Backed by her blistering band, it’s all delivered in a stunning voice that veers from a nicotine whisper to a motorcycle snarl.
